Fun for the Foodies

August 5, 2014 / Blog /

The ever-increasing popularity of food trucks in recent years has brought innovative cooks and enthusiastic foodies together in cities all across the country. The Washington D.C. area has an especially active food truck scene, with about 200 trucks operating in the city.

With everything from pho to ice cream cookie sandwiches, to classic barbecue from a Metrologo favorite Rocklands, food trucks add a spice to life and dining for DC residents and visitors. And to get their name and culinary appeals recognized, trucks across the city turn to social media, brand products, and the great promotional practice of festivals.

Festivals are a fun place for locals and tourists alike to mingle, sample food truck offerings, and often enjoy live music or other entertainment. Especially during months of good weather, there is almost always a food-truck-friendly event to check out. Between regular weekend Drink the District and Taste of DC events, and monthly Truckeroo festivals, food trucks stay busy and food truck enthusiasts stay well fed.
